Laura Mitchell

Originally from Charlottesville, Virginia, Laura Mitchell was raised in Inverness, Florida. She was introduced to the game of golf by her father and has been playing since she was ten years old. She knew during her high school years that golf would be the direction her career path would follow. Laura attended Central Florida Community College and the Golf Academy of the South.

Laura enjoyed a successful high school golf career, where her skills enabled her to be a starter on the boy's golf team. She has continued to maintain a competitive edge to her game, playing in various state opens in the New England area and a few tournaments on the Futures Tour.

While playing golf is 'fun' for Laura, her passion and career direction have always been in teaching the skills and game of golf to others. Over the last twenty years, she has helped several thousand golfers improve their skills and enjoyment of the game. Many of these golfers became repeat clients and friends.

Laura's desire to continually improve her teaching skills and be at the cutting edge of golf instruction prompted her to send her resume to the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. She has successfully completed our intensive training program, spending part of her training time at our World Headquarters of ChampionsGate in Orlando and the rest at our Naples LaPlaya Academy. Laura is now part of our elite team of certified instructors and currently teaches at our LaPlaya Academy in the winter and our Crystal Springs Academy in the summer.
